Ramsbottom Heritage Gallery at Ramsbottom Library and Adult Learning Centre
There are 2 exhibitions in the Heritage Gallery, both open whether the library is open.
The Ramsbottom Hoard is a permanent exhibition which tells the story of 4 mediaeval coins found locally, and has been designed by Bury Council.
The other exhibition curated by the Ramsbottom Heritage Society tells the story of the Chatterton Catastrophe in April 2026.
Starving handloom weavers with no income destroyed power looms in local factories. The exhibition describes the reasons leading up the events on the 26th April 1826, and the aftermath and transportation to Australia
There are a number of panels and artefacts.
