Well, this is the book for you, 3 guided walks, short history of some of the buildings you will pass, with videos to watch on you phone/tablet.
It includes 40 pages of photographs old and new, seven maps, descriptions of buildings that you will pass and 11 QR codes that link to videos on some of the buildings.
This is divided up into three walks:
Walk 1 is from Holcombe Brook to Holcombe via the Holcombe Old Road to Peel Tower, onto Holcombe School and Church, passing the Shoulder of Mutton and back along Lumb Carr Road to Holcombe Brook. It is 6km ( 4 miles) and will take a couple of hours.
Walk 2 is from Holcombe Brook to Higher Summerseat via Pot Green, Summerseat House, Peel Hall and the three public houses in Higher Summerseat, onto Longsight Road and back to Holcombe Brook. It is 3.6km ( 2.2 miles) and will take a couple of hours.
Walk 3 is a circular walk starting at Summerseat Station, Queens Place, Hoyle’s Mill, St. Winifred’s Church, Primitive Methodist Church, Railway Street, and back to the station. It is 3.6km ( 2.2 miles) and will take a couple of hours.
