I was born in Ramsbottom 60 years ago in July. I went to school in Stubbins and lived in Edenfield.

I was badly burned in an explosion in the council house we lived in on Eden Avenue. It was an extremely cold winter and the pipes froze. Before the pipes defrosted mum lit the coal fire and the backboiler blew up.
Mum was scalded and I got burned.

Would you know of any sources of information about this. It would've been 1955 I think.
I'm not sure which newspapers would be about then but it must've been reported on.
