I live in Ontario Canada. My ancestors came from Ramsbottom (and surroundings) and I still have family in town.

I have been working on our family tree and came across a note from my grandmother with some information on my GG grandfather Edmund Hall b. c1840 Heap. The note states that Edmund Hall married Elizabeth Brooks 1862 “started Ramsbottom paper Mill”

Now while I doubt he owned a mill, I wonder if you can clarify what my grandmother might have meant. Which paper Mill would it be that she is referring to and is there any written history of that mill?
